The Corbère canal, on the right bank of the River Têt in the Pyrénées-Orientales department, irrigates more than 1,000ha of agricultural land (essentially orchards).

The works consisted of:

  1. Creation of an automated gauging station on the Corbère canal, making it possible to save up to 650,000m3 per year;
  2. Waterproofing the Corbère canal over 200 linear metres, making it possible to save 85,000m3 of water per year;
  3. Lining the Corbère canal over 600 linear metres, making it possible to save 250,000m3 of water per year.
